What is Numerology?
Numerology is the study of the occult use and supposed power of number. It is used to determine a person's
personality, talents, emotional, obstacles, and relationship with others. Each letter has a numeric value that
provides a related cosmic vibration. The sum of the value derived from the letters in your name and the sum
of numbers in your birth date provide an interrelation of vibration.
You may use numerology to understand yourself or your love one better or just use it for fun. Believe it or not, it
is your own choice.
The roots of numerology can be traced back some 10,000 years to Egypt and Babylonia. There is also evidence of the
use of numerology thousands of years ago in China, Rome, Japan, and Greece. The credit for modern numerology, however,
is most often given to the Greek philosopher Pythagoras.
Pythagoras was born in Greece around 590 BC and was one of the best known philosophers of his day. He is best known for
one of his theorems, Pythagoras's theorem. He believed that everything can be described and expressed by numbers.
How numerology Works?
Name and birth date are the basic data for numerology. Different numbers are calculated from these basic data, and each number
has different meaning.
The numeric values of letters.
Numbers derived from your date of birth
Your Life Path number: The sum of your birth date. This number represents who you are at birth
and the native traits that you will carry with you through life. This number is established from adding year,
month, and day of your birth date together and reduce the total by adding its digits together until you get a single
Your Birth Day number: The day of your birth. This number is not reduced. Each of the 31
birth days is described separately. The day you were born bears great significance in understanding who you are
and where your talents lie.
Your Challenges: Numerologists use three individual numbers to represent the life challenges.
These numbers interpretations represent the obstacles, hurdles and difficulties that you will face during certain phases of your life.
The First Number is the Early Challenge Number. It represents the difficulties you may face from birth until approximately the age of 30 to 35 of your life.
The Second Number is the Middle Challenge Number. It represents the difficulties may face from age 30/35 to around age 55/60 of your life.
The Third Number is the Main Challenge Number. It emphasizes the difficulties that you may face in the latter part of your life. The Main Challenge Number also represents the chronic obstacles that you face your entire life.
Your Pinnacle Cycles: There are four numerology Pinnacle cycles. Pinnacle changes bring life changes.
Each numerology Pinnacle shapes you. Pinnacle changes are intense episodes of transformation in personal lives.
Prepare yourself for the times ahead by knowing your approaching Pinnacle numbers and when the changeovers occur.
The first numerology Pinnacle starts at birth and lasts 27-35 years. It represents youth and is almost entirely personal.
The second numerology Pinnacle lasts 9 years. It represents growth, a period of responsibility and obligation, a preparation for the future. Powers and abilities are high and there may be a feeling of haste to prepare for the next change.
The third numerology Pinnacle lasts 9 years. It represents middle age, a period of maturing attitudes and generally a broadening of activities into other areas, perhaps national or international. A foundation for the latter years must be well laid. The number of the fourth and final Pinnacle shows the kind of foundation it should be.
The fourth numerology Pinnacle lasts until end of life. It is a period of using wisdom gained from life experience and applying it to visions of the human and spiritual welfare of mankind. There tends to be a broad and philosophic outlook.
Your Period Cycles: There are three numerology Life Period cycles. Cycle changes bring life changes.
The first numerology Life Period cycle starts at birth and lasts 25-33 years. It is a learning period, finding your true nature and learning to cope with your environment.
The second period lasts 27 years. It is a period where you find your place in the world and master a greater degree of influence on your environment.
The third period lasts until end of life. Self-expression, certainty, and personal power are at their height. Accumulated knowledge and experience make wise decisions more likely.
Your Current Personal Year Cycle:
The first and foremost of the several cycles that influence your experience of life is the Personal Year Cycle number.
In numerology, each year of your life is part of an evolving pattern that can be described as a nine-year cycle or epicycle. These cycles begin at your birth and progress, one by one, through nine steps that complete an epicycle, and then begin again.
The epicycle starts with a 1 Personal Year, progresses to the 2 Personal Year, and so on to the 9 Personal Year. Each epicycle has a particular tone or character that is distinguished by the opportunities offered, and by the lessons to be learned during that period.
Each numbered year has its own characteristics, as symbolized by the number itself: A 1 Personal Year has all the qualities the number 1 has, just as the 2 Personal Year has the 2 qualities. At the same time, the epicycle is also influenced by other shorter and larger cycles that are at play. These cycles include the Transits, Essence numbers, and long-term cycles. But the influences that are most clearly identifiable are the Personal Year and the Essence numbers.
Your Current Personal Month Cycle:
Your numerology influences change every month.
The influences change at other times, too, each in its own cycle. Short cycles are noticed more than long cycles. The influences of long cycles tend to become unnoticed after a while (although they are still as powerful as ever).
The monthly influence is important because it's short cycle and tends to change things for you every month.
The monthly cycle influence is subject to the yearly and other longer cycles. Therefore, the reading is somewhat complicated.
To find your Personal Month, add the single-digit value of the month to your Personal Year number. For example, someone with an 8 Personal Year who wants to know his Personal Month for April should add the 8 (for the Personal Year cycle) to the 4 (for April) and arrive at 12, which is reduced to 3. April is a 3 Personal Month for someone in the 8 Personal Year.
Your Current Personal Day Cycle:
The Personal Day describes the trends and influences that are affecting us personally that day. The Universal Day in contrast describes the general or universal trends and influences. Its influence combines with the Personal Day.
Your personal day number can tell you if today is a good day to start on a new project or if an extremely long nap is in order.
Numbers derived from your name
- Your Expression number: A number derived from all of the letters in your full birth name. This sum describes all of the talents and potentials that are at your disposal in this lifetime.
The value of your Life Expression Number is that it shows you what you are truly capable of or what you should look for when it comes to realizing your highest potential.
- Your Heart's Desire number: The heart's desire, or soul urge number, represents your deep desires.
It shows your underlying motivation, or the general intention behind many of your actions. It dramatically influences the choices you make in life. Its influence is everywhere in your life - your career, your environment, friendships, and life style.

- Your Personality number:
Your Personality Number provides information about how you present yourself to the rest of the world. It indicates what characteristics and qualities you display, but also which ones you hide.

Your Personality Number is derived from the consonants of your name.
- Your Maturity number:
Your Maturity number indicates an underlying wish or desire that gradually surfaces around age thirty to thirty-five. This underlying goal begins to emerge as you gain a better understanding of yourself. With self-knowledge comes a greater awareness of who you are, what your true goals in life are, and what direction you want to set for your life. This, in a nutshell, is the gift of maturity: You no longer waste time and energy on things that are not within your own special identity.
No matter what your age is at present, your life is being channeled in a specific direction, toward a very specific goal. That goal can be seen as a reward or the fulfillment of a promise that is implicit in your current efforts, often without your knowing it consciously.
While the characteristics of this number are usually visible during childhood, we tend to lose sight of these aspects until later in life. But our lives are always being affected by this influence, nonetheless.
Your Maturity number begins to have a more profound impact on your life after the age of 35. The influence of the number increases steadily as you grow older.
Add your Life Path number and your Expression number and reduce the total to a single digit, except in the case of a Master number (11 or 22), to find your Maturity number.
